Swapping families

The Swap Family Community, more united than ever. Meet other swapping families

Swap Family is a community, looking to meet other swapping families. A community of people with motivations and interests similar to yours. Have you considered contacting families from other countries to talk to them? Take advantage of confinement and meet other members from Swap Family!

For the first time in our lives all our swapping families have been forced to slow down, to stop, to live intensely 24 hours a day and fulfill, as far as they can, their obligations.

24 hours, intense 24 hours

At the beginning maybe we were afraid thinking about how we were going to fill all those hours. But in the blink of an eye the offer of activities became enormous, so immense that now we must plan to be able to do everything. And we have proposals to suit all tastes and age groups; crafts, yoga classes, cooking, live concerts, dancing … the list is endless.

And we all have a common feeling, we need to know that we are there, that we are united. I stay home for you, for me and for everyone. Every day we go out (from windows, balcony, front doors…) at 8pm for a big applause to show all health staff our appreciation for their ongoing hard work. We are all together.

The Swap Family community is also united, each of our members counts and has a mission. Thanks to each of our members, it is possible to connect with other families.

For some time, we will not be able to travel, we will not be able to go out, but this does not prevent us from being united and making feasible the engine and concern of all our members: being in contact with other cultures, meeting other families and speaking other languages.

The Swap Family community is also united, each of our members counts and has a mission.

It is a great opportunity to get in touch with other families in the community, send a simple message of support, ask what is happening on the other side, exchange messages… maybe even a video call. A way to start meeting other families. And who knows if later all this communication takes us to another point.

Perhaps the most difficult thing is to break the ice; What do I tell them? What I explain them? and the damned “What will they think?”. The easiest thing may be introducing yourself, explaining who you are and ask how they are. Formalisms, that if we make the effort to raise them in the other language, they will surely help us.

The use of educational apps has increased like never before. Thanks to them, many people are using them to refresh and advance their language learning. Also many people are turning to online classes with teachers, because the desire to learn doesn’t stop either.

From here, Swap Family, our community can also support informal learning, because in every communication you make it will put your knowledge into practice. Because in every communication you make in another language it will be an advance. We encourage you all to participate, to interact, to exchange messages with other members.

The whole family can participate, even the little ones can exchange letters / messages with other members their age. In this way, they will be able to practice and reinforce what they already know and arouse their curiosity among equals.

Also in Swap Family we can move on because thanks to everyone, we can make it possible, we can carry on communicating and learning from other swapping families.
